Organising attraction tickets and entry slots

When you have several attraction tickets, the date is only one detail. A useful filing system connects each ticket with its entrance, traveller and time slot.

Connect each booking to its visit

Give a downloaded file a recognisable name containing the date, place and experience. A row of files called Ticket or Download is difficult to sort through in a queue. Retain the original file unchanged and use a separate calendar entry for planning rather than cropping important information out of the ticket.

Check whether a confirmation is itself the admission document or must first be exchanged for something else. A payment receipt is not automatically an entry ticket either. The particular operator's instructions decide this. A method that worked at a previous museum will not necessarily work at every venue.

Record whether the time slot refers to admission, the start of a guided tour or collection. These may involve different meeting points and lead times. If you booked an additional tour separately, keep both documents in the same day's folder while making it clear that they represent different services.

Allow space between two tickets

Include more than the time inside the exhibition. Exiting, collecting coats, taking a toilet break and reaching the next venue also take time. A booking immediately after a long guided tour can become awkward after even a small delay. Where possible, move the more flexible part before both reservations are fixed.

For example, imagine a museum visit followed by an afternoon tour on the edge of another district. Check the route between the actual entrances first. A short straight line on a map says little about a river crossing or required connection. Leave a break that has not already been counted as transfer time.

Agree who will hold the group's documents

Decide who will present the tickets and whether the group must enter together. Named tickets and discounts may require additional evidence; check the conditions of the particular offer. Share documents only with those who need them, and do not publish readable entry codes or booking references.

Download the files before leaving and open them once without mobile data. This reveals whether you saved only a link or whether an app requires a login. Keep the phone charged and, if the operator accepts it, consider an appropriate paper backup.

After changing a booking, explicitly check which file is valid. Mark the old version as replaced in your personal records. The system becomes useful when you no longer face three similar documents at the entrance without knowing which was changed most recently.
