Choosing an airport transfer for your accommodation

An airport transfer does not merely finish in the city centre; it needs to reach your accommodation. Compare the full luggage journey and actual arrival time.

Count from terminal to room door

Check the arrival terminal and where the selected transport departs. Baggage collection, orientation and walking through the terminal can separate landing from boarding. Landing time is therefore not the start of an immediate city journey.

Search through to the precise accommodation address. A fast express to the centre may leave a long walk or several further changes. A slower direct service can be easier overall with bags.

Do not compare single-person fares when travelling as a group. Include all passengers, connecting tickets and any booking charges. For a taxi or prebooked transfer, establish the actual service, pickup location and waiting conditions.

Check late arrival separately

Search for the realistic time after landing. First and last departures matter particularly late at night. Investigate an alternative if the preferred connection cannot be reached.

For a reserved transfer, read how flight delays are handled and how to contact the provider. Entering a flight number alone does not explain every waiting or amendment rule. Save the confirmation offline.

Contact accommodation when expected arrival falls outside its usual hours. Ask specifically about access. A successful airport journey is of limited use if it ends at a closed door without an agreed contact.

Compare against your bags and travelling party

With a pushchair, several cases or limited mobility, examine steps, lifts and vehicle capacity. A short advertised travel time says nothing about those details. Give specific space requirements when booking a vehicle.

Choose an arrangement in which everyone knows the meeting point. Share booking details and address within the group rather than relying entirely on one phone.

Before flying, recheck official airport information and the selected transport provider. Stops and operating arrangements can change. An older travel description may explain the general geography, but should not provide the final confirmation for your actual arrival date and terminal. Keep the destination address in the local spelling as well, so it can be shown clearly if you need help with directions.
